Spectrafocus #1 built on Sombrio Beach, BC, in 1982 to control solar spectra for research into altered state of consciousness called Jamais-Vu (never seen), experiencing something familiar, as if for the first time. The Reticular Activating System in the brain stem relaxes resulting in no habituation; rather a deeper sense of perception that appears to slow time and enhances the feeling of meaningfulness.
